What I Do
Our Services

Individual Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
For kids (ages 6 and up), teenagers and adults.
I have used cognitive behavioral therapy with clients for many years. This form of therapy is very effective for those who suffer from anxiety and depression. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is based upon the idea that how you think determines how you feel and how you behave. CBT teaches you how to get rid of the never-ending negative thought cycle and helps you to learn to see events in a more positive way.

Group Therapy for Teenagers 14-18
To learn Life Skills such as:
- Creating a budget and sticking to it
- How to write a resume and get the job
- Basic car maintenance
- Banking information
- How to read a contract and understand the “fine print.”
- Dealing with “sticky social situations”
- Understanding Georgia law
If you have a teen that you feel could benefit from this group, please call or email me and I can make sure that they are included in the next group. These groups are typically held on Sunday afternoons from 2:00 to 4:00

Virtual Reality Exposure Therapy
This is a scientifically proven therapy that helps individuals overcome anxiety and phobias by being virtually exposed to situations that cause intense fear. It is done in the safe environment of the office. Many phobias such as fear of flying, fear of heights, fear of needles, fear of spiders, fear of germs, etc. can be helped with VRET. It is also effective in treating school anxiety, test anxiety and social anxiety.

Coordination of Care
I am a firm believer that the most effective treatment for my client is when the family, the school, the client, and any other medical personnel that are involved, work together to help the client reach his/her potential. However, I do realize that there are situations where this is counter-indicated. Therefore, I will never contact others without your permission. If you do request coordination of care, I promise to do my best to reach out to those that are involved in your care so that we can all work together.
I do not do medication management, but I do work closely with several doctors, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners in the area. I can give you referrals as needed.
